What is it?

Achilles Tendonitis occurs when the Achilles tendon becomes inflamed. The Achilles tendon is a thick band of fibrous tissue that connects the heel to the calf muscle.

What causes it?

Injuries to the Achilles tendon may be caused by:

  • Overuse
  • Misalignment
  • Muscle tightness
  • Improper footwear
  • Poor mechanics
